Metro Crenshaw / LAX Transit Corridor Project

At Los Angeles International Airport, McKissack & McKissack managed stakeholders and provided community outreach and project management services for the Metro Crenshaw / LAX Transit Corridor Project, an 8.5-mile light rail extension project that will be a part of the Los Angeles County Metro Rail System.
The 8.5-mile Crenshaw / LAX light rail transit line is the primary north-south link in the Los Angeles transit system. This important link will connect existing  transit lines, such as the Metro Green Line, or future lines, such as Expo Light Rail Transit and the proposed transit connection to Los Angeles International Airport. During the advanced conceptual engineering and preliminary design of the project, McKissack managed the stakeholders and provided project management, estimating and scheduling services. During the design-build stage, McKissack developed, implemented and managed community outreach programs, publicity efforts and event marketing strategies to enhance public awareness and secure community support for the project. McKissack managed stakeholder communication and represented Los Angeles’ Metro before stakeholders, elected officials and community groups to address issues pertaining to the design, construction and implementation of the project. McKissack also provided analysis and recommendations regarding community impacts.
